Autumn cannibalism - Salvador Dali. 65x65.2

Mutual absorption, eating, destruction - this is the plot of this work. The process is devoid of wildness, everything happens very culturally, with the help of cutlery. Nearby is half peeled pear, candied nuts. Tensions are created by pieces of meat, a ruthlessly nailed piece of flesh. The action takes place against the backdrop of a rocky landscape, in the center of which is a bloody lake with a lonely house on the shore.

The picture was created during the civil war in the author’s homeland. The idea of self-destruction was relevant for the master. The internal war itself, covered by the noble ideas of a just structure, a false understanding of the truth, turns into a bloody farce, devoid of meaning.

The yellow and brown colors of the picture, designed to create an autumnal sound, create a tense atmosphere. The picture is full of symbols, signs. Ants - destruction, drawer - Pandora's box with unpredictable contents. The apple crowning the composition is a symbol of temptation, of sin itself.

A cloud hanging lonely in the sky resembles a human profile. The viewer can only guess if the author intentionally introduces an additional image, or is it a coincidence.

Real images in an unreal combination, as the author sees the very essence of the civil war.
